sorry for the bad news, but the insurance companies are now going to start charge you if you get 2 of these "general unsafe driving" within 3 years...

most are still forgiven for under 14 MPH, or you get the Allstate violation forgiveness plan.... or a badge always helps too..LOL

+1 an addendum to JerseyShovel's comments.

ALWAYS go to court. Never take a ticket lying down. And don't show up for the court date in jeans and a stupid t-shirt. Put on a suit or the closest thing you have to one. SHOW RESPECT to the court. The first thing the judge will notice is your appearance. If you show the court no respect by coming dressed like a bum. You'll get treated like one. Talk with the police officer first and see if he won't write the ticket down to something with no points. He'll talk to the prosecutor. Unless he's being uncooperative or doesn't show. Then go to the prosecutor.
