So as most of you know my GT is in the works. Basically I plan to keep the car close stock until the time is up and its ruled a classic now I still have all my original parts to return the car back to stock configurations I am just wondering how one goes about probably documenting a car. I already have original build sheet and window sticked in a secured location as well as my services records for the car but I am still wondering if anyone knows how to properly document a car

I keep track of everything, from tire changes, oil changes to installs, window sticker with my name on it,orginal order form..ect. I keep all the original paper work and pictures in a safe. I also have everything scan and it store at my house in Florida's safe, just in case. I never use any of the original material to display only copies. I also have all my original parts packed in rubbermaid containers.

Everytime i do something to my car i write it down in the scheduled maint log book included with the owner's manual. I also keep the receipts to the work that i have done, like the blower for example.

I know i save all my receipts of the oil and stuff i bought for the car to do that work, also any mods or anything i get from like american muscle or something i save also along with any of the original parts, also have the window sticker and all that paper work locked away. Also i like to take pics of the new mods on the car and any big work i do to it to show what has been done to it over the years. And from watching barret jackson they say as long as u have the paper work and a box of the orginal parts iof there not on the car then they consider that good documentation but what ever u think is good documentation then do it it will only help the documentation of ur stang

Austin.....what mods? lol!
I have the receipts for everything I bought as far as mods. But with oil (I do it myself), I don't bother keeping the receipts. Only when if it goes into the shop (twice) or for a mod. The original parts are still in my garage as well, in the boxes the new replacement parts came in.
