We got lucky. No damage around the house. We just got our power back at 1pm. It went out 9pm Monday night. Cable/internet/phone all went with it. Even our cell phones got no signal at the house.

We've been keeping the refrigerator running off a propane fueled generate I bought after the storm last year. It was getting pretty cold in the house so on Wednesday night I ended up rewiring the furnace so I could plug it in. I could only run the generator intermittently for lack of fuel although I think finding gasoline might have been harder.

For those of you looking for gas we just went through Mt Holly on up to Cherry Hill. All through Pemberton Township and Route 38 stations were open and no lines - might be worth a short trip for some of you. Didn't see any prices raised either. Hope everyone stayed safe. We had some property and house damage but we, and the cars, are all safe and sound. So sorry about the devastated areas - our prayers go out to all affected.

Unfortunately, Cherry Hill is a 100 mile, 2 hour drive for me. Probably not worth the drive unless I can get about twelve 5-gallon gas cans filled. Do they have gas cans out there?

I got to a station (that got a delivery last night) at 7:15 this morning. They had one pump open for gas cans and 3 for cars. The line didn't look long but it took me just over 2 hours to get 9 gallons of gas. As I was filling up, the owner came out to tell the attendant they only had 7000 gallons left. Crazy how quick it goes in these smaller stations...

Wished I was closer as well. Between the distance and the about $20 roundtrip toll it's not worth it. If anyone up north finds some hidden stations around here lets post them up with some addresses for the GPS.

Things here in Jersey City/Bayonne area are still crazy. One Quick Check here in Bayonne got a generator as is open for gas. Came out of the diner this morning after having breakfast and saw the line going as far as we could see. A guy told us it went to 31st street. The station is on 53rd street. Yes it was 22 city blocks long. I hope this madness ends soon!

Got REALLY lucky here. I'm within eye shot of AC, and all I got was a tree(from my neighbor) that took out the corner of my deck, we never even lost power in my neighborhood. The whole Twp. faired really well considering the eye passed over us. I have a lot of friends that lived on the shore that lost everything, and some that had no damage, just blocks from each other....crazy! I think the June 30th storm and all the tree work done after it really saved us a lot of problems.

Their Newest Solution, I see this creating more of a confusion at the pumps for the next few days....supposedly people are going up to Sloatsburg NY off 87N and getting gas without wait.....my friend just told me that the WaWa stations in Ocean County are good to get gas at too.

BREAKING NEWS: Gov. Christie has ordered odd-even gas purchasing in 12 NJ counties to ease gas station lines. Starting on Saturday at noon, residents with license plates ending in an even number will be able to buy gas on even-numbered days and residents with plates ending in an odd number can make gas purchases on odd-numbered days. Vanity plates are considered odd numbered.

    The affected counties are:

    Bergen
    Essex
    Hudson
    Hunterdon
    Middlesex
    Morris
    Monmouth
    Passaic
    Somerset
    Sussex
    Union
    Warren

What is your reaction to this news?
